Dear Dark-Crawler,
We are a research group at the University of Washington. My name is Chung-Yi Weng, a PhD student here.
I am working on a computer graphics project to animate human characters from a single photo. One of the example input photos we used is exactly this photo, since it looked really interesting and worked nice with our initial experiments.
For your information, here is a way to find our demo video: Go to youtube website, and then search videos using keywords "photo wake-up". The work title is "Photo Wake-Up: 3D Character Animation from a Single Photo." You can get our paper and project page in information page of that video.
(Sorry this is the only way I can let you access the materials since the system always prohibited me to post comments if I inserted links)
We just got notice that the paper is accepted to an academic conference called CVPR and we would like to ask your permission to use the photo in the paper and supplementary video with proper acknowledgements of course.
We are sincerely looking forward to your reply, and would really appreciate your generosity in allowing us to feature it in the research. We're happy to provide any additional information. Please let us know.
Thank you!
Chung-Yi Weng

Hello! I just searched, it looks great! I have no problem with the use of the drawing! But I'd like to let you know that this isn't a original drawing, is based on a oficial colored manga page that you can see here: i.pinimg.com/originals/78/a1/b…
You can use this or the original if you want!

This is really nice! Thanks for your reply and granting us the permission. Also feel happy you like the research project, and feel grateful we have such an amazing manga - Dragon Ball Z!
