I know this is gonna sound like a stupid question but since when was Laguna Squalls dad,Ive read some comments that say he is and Iv'e never played FF8 so if someone could explain that would be great, thanx

Well it's never specifically said that Laguna is his dad in the game but it's strongly suggested he is. It's kind of a long story to explain fully in a comment but this link about Laguna from the FF Wiki should explain it [link] hope it helps.
