There is so much power in this shot. The texture of the skin is stunning and the lightning makes it look multicolored. It's so appealing to the eye that you can imagine how its skin feels like. The blurry background is simple, yet beautiful, but at the same time it does not distract the viewer from the main subject. It gives a great focus to the animal by making an empashize on the shape. The colors give a warm feeling to the shot, but at the same time it's breath-taking. The fact that you can see its eyes makes it look like a king among reptiles. This shot is perfect!

I'd say it IS a good shot, in my own, unprofessional opinion. For one, there's this level of interest created by not being able to see the lizard's eyes. He could be a conniving dragon like Smaug for all we know. Beautiful colors and composition.

Напомнило мне, недавний случай. Я была на музыкально фестивале весной. И там трое ребят, продавали музыкальные инструменты. Там было много всего интересного, в том числе и несколько каримб. На одной из них была нарисована ящерица и мне предложили поиграть на ней, сказав, что надо сыграть так, чтобы ящерица проснулась

One of my favorite photos on Deviant art. I love how this picture is souly based on the "grip" of this, if you get what I mean, I can't quite put this into words. I also think this stands out because of the angle you took this at: instead of the picture revolving around the lizard, it shows the "feels".
