No problem, and yeah it definitely is a compliment. He's one of my favourite photographers, I studied his work quite some time ago when I was in college. He used completely traditional techniques to achieve similar to what you have done. Tried it myself and it takes a lot of effort.
Just wantering though, Duane Michals often used religion as his subject matter. Is that the case here?

The image is so detached in context from me now, I don't recall my exact motivation. I want to say religion wasn't my subject though. Then again, a lot of this work takes on meaning after I create it, I rarely go in with a subject matter in mind.

That sounds familiar. But this looks likes there could be many different meanings and subject matters behind it. It's quite powerful in that way.
