Bio: Rena is the leader of her team. A member of an unknown faunus species but has all the common traits: Better senses, near-perfect night vision but also has superior strength and eye sight that puts even the most gifted human to shame. Her species are immune to aging. Their growth rate is slightly faster than a human's but stop aging after 21, making Rena's real age difficult to determine. An experienced fighter who has seen a lot during her travels. She's the adopted daughter of Smith Schwartz, a man who ran away from home and dug his way out of poverty to become one of the most successful men of his time. Smith found Rena badly injured during a stormy night and nursed her back to health. Since he couldn't find any information about her parents, Smith decided to adopt her and gave his last name.

Rena used to be part of the White Fang when Ghira Belladonna was in charge and admiring his ambition of equality and peace between humans and faunus she decided to join the organization and became close to Ghira, his wife Kali and daughter Blake Belladonna. She became a respected member of the White Fang and some felt she could be Ghira's successor one day. For a while things were peaceful until Ghira stepped down after being offered to become Chieftain of Menagerie. Rena didn't like the idea, going as far as pleading with Ghira to reconsider. When Sienna Khan took over, Rena watched the White Fang's original purpose change. Instead of peaceful protests, the White Fang began raiding Dust stores, violent rioting and even attack humans. This ultimately became too much for her to endure, thus making Rena leave the White Fang. Sienna, not wanting to lose such an important and strong member, sent Adam Taurus to retrieve. Following a brief clash of beliefs over what the White Fang was doing, the two fought. A fierce duel erupted until a miscalculation on Rena's part allowed Adam to bypass her defense and cost her an eye. However she left him in worse shape. She looks forward to her rematch with Adam Taurus.

Personality and traits: A stoic yet intelligent fighter, Rena takes her job as both a mercenary and team leader seriously. Some of the jobs her and her team undertake included purging towns of Grimm, hunting or killing wanted ex-hunters and huntress, human or faunus. But there are lines even they won't cross such as killing indiscriminately or looting. She possesses a great judge of character, believing one should be judged by their character or merits, not by appearance. When Ghira was offered Chieftain of Menagerie, Rena pleaded with him to reconsider, warning the damage Adam Taurus' violent tendencies will cause if Ghira stepped down. When Sienna Khan took over, Rena gave her the same warning. When arguing about what the White Fang was doing under Khan's leadership, Sienna said the actions were for obtaining respect. Rena refuted it, stating respect is earned not handed.

She is normally seen with a neutral expression on her face and speaks in a monotone voice. Initially started off on solo missions, Rena completed them even though some nearly costed Rena her life. Her striking beauty made both men and women desire her. Some groped her causing Rena to develop a hatred for flirts. Those who groped her either ended up in a hospital or in the ground. This calm and stoic behavior made some write her off as being cold, blunt and apathetic. While she doesn't hold humanity in high regard, she tolerates them. Providing they don't threaten her or those close to her. Despite her appearance, Rena is built like a tank, able to shrug off otherwise fatal trauma or injuries. When not on missions, she's seen training.

Beneath her tough exterior lies a softer side in addition to sadness. A part of her craves companionship.

She maintains a close bond with the Belladonnas, especially with Blake who looks up to Rena as an older sister. They considered Rena family to her, something she never experienced. She cares about her adopted father Smith Schwartz. Their meeting was tense but the two grew close. She's protective of her teammates.

During her final test under the training of a middle-aged deer faunus name Gale Newsom, she fought and killed him. However, Gale told her that he had an incurable disease that was slowly killing him and would in a few more years so he wanted to leave the world on his own terms. That was by his student's blade. The incident scarred Rena forever and something she could never forgive herself for after all the years she spent bonding with Gale practically when she was a girl. Because of this and having trust being exploited by others for personal gain, Rena has a hard time opening up to new people, refusing to let herself be vulnerable out of fear of being rejected or abandoned.

Weapon and fighting style: A master swordswoman forged by Gale's training and combat experience, her weapon of choice is a claymore sword dubbed Scarlet strapped to her back in a black silk covered scabbard. The blade is forged out of nigh indestructible metal, leading her to question if it could be a magical item or maybe a Relic made in secret by the Twin Gods. Due to Rena's great strength, Scarlet can cut through almost anything.

Rena's fighting style revolves around aggressive power attacks coupled with blinding speed. While brute force is one of the defining aspects of her swordplay, she doesn't fight like a barbarian. She uses tactical ingenuity, both traditional and unorthodox guiding the fight to a place of her choosing. While fighting on the offense, Rena's power blows were nothing short of devastating with a sequence of deflection and parries mixed in. Defensively, she relies on tight, efficient moves to ensure maximum defensive coverage and wait for his opponents to give in to fatigue or frustration and launch an aggressive series of attacks. While she typically favors the two-handed grip Rena has no trouble wielding Scarlet with one hand. She also incorporates grapples and physical strikes. One trait of Rena's weapon is the way it reacts to those who hold it. In Rena's hands, it's as light as a feather but when someone else tries to use it, it weighs as much as a mountain. This acted like a security measure.

Semblance: Rena's semblance is called Fire Manipulation. She channels her aura and stabs Scarlet into the ground, heating it underneath which fractures while traveling towards the target in a snake-like fashion. It then scorches the target in 9,000 degree heat that leaves nothing but ash. Rena can adjust the power of the attack at will ranging from a fissure-like attack to a pentagram that adjusts in size for multiple opponents or when she's pissed off. Whenever she's buried under rubble, she unleashes a burst of energy that sends the debris in all directions turning them into deadly projectiles. Due to her aggressive yet precise fighting style, Rena earned the nickname the "One Eyed Devil". Because she's the Winter Maiden, she has access to more weapons though she doesn't use her maiden powers often after the previous Winter Maiden Selene Maelstrom warned her that someone was targeting the Maidens.

She wears blue plated armor forged out of the same metal as Scarlet, black short-sleeved shirt, black leggings, dark brown boots, blue faulds, pauldrons and gauntlets. Rena found her armor and claymore inside Mountain Glenn.

The reference for her armor is based on Nightmare's Soul Calibur II's P1 outfit.
