After hearing about Lauren in danger of being arrested for a crime that she did not commit, and overhearing Darkrail and Lauren talk about dealing with Barrett 'Bucky' Danvers by changing his hearts, Samuel decided to confront them the next day and accompanied them into the Metaverse. Getting a good look around and becoming disgusted by how Bucky viewed the world and his parents, as well as fueled by the desire to remove the taint from the world, Samuel awoke to his Persona, Death itself or Pale Death. Seeing how frightening he was and how deadly, Samuel was given the Codename Wraith.
