Description My first finished 3D object (with textures and light...)

Ofcourse I had some practice before, but this is my first real finished work.

I'm still a little confused about the UV-texturing, but I'm starting to get it the rendering options are endless... will take a while to understand all of it. <.<

Hi Kicky!

Well I only got just started with this. I practiced some modeling based on the video's of digital tutors.
They explain the modeling very well. It's really handy because they select some basic techniques to start with.

When I first started messing around in 3D, I used the bevel option a lot to smooth my edges. I didn't understood smoothing at all
Their video's taught me to model with the smoothing-option in mind.

I still have a long way to go though :*) I'm sure that you'd be even better at this stuff, when you'd focus on it more often.
I can see from your renders that you're more used to texturing/lighting than I am But I'm working on it

Oh and I'm working in Maya 2012 (well 2010,2011, 2012, they're practically the same really)
My brother does most of his works in 3DS Max. I choose maya just for the sake of doing something different xD hehe

Thanks for the comment Kicky, really appreciate it

Then you should definitely be checking some video tutorials, if you haven't already.
I didn't know the Tekken-team uses Maya! Awesome

Maybe I should start modeling our very own Tekken-character.
Modeling and rigging your own characters sounds interesting, doesn't it? :]

We should get a personal project started ^^hehe (but first, lets learn some more)
*goes back to study*

well, as far as my profession goes, i think i am doing fine so i'll just learn other stuff for fun.
here are two of my fav renders:

yeah it sounds interesting but it needs too much time and patience XD
i once started learning character rigging, but didn't finish it it was for that green character i one made hehe

that would be cool <3
i am working on something myself now but it is not 3D, it i s a comic. about xiaoyu ofc yeah i am still a fanboy :3

Those houses have a cool style! I especially like the second render.
The colors fit well together.

I had to search your green goblin character, but I found it
hehe it still makes me smile.
I think I'm patient enough to learn the rigging. But I don't want to rush it.
First I'll do some more basic modeling/rendering. After that I might give the rigging a shot

Hey man, keep working Xiaoyu stuff!! Really, she's too hot to let go :*)

Hi huey-lewis,

Thanks for the feedback, but which pads are you referring to?
This is the headset that I used as a reference:

As you can see, it's pretty blocky. Unless you're talking about the actual texture.
