He found John in his cabin, sunken against the wall in front of the aquarium. The calm blue light was the only source of lighting while the rest of the room layed in dark, deep shadows.'Fits the current mood', he thought sarcastically, making his way over to his CO. John didn't even look up. Kaidan couldn't even tell if his eyes were closed or open, but it doesn't matter anyway. There he was, Commander Shepard, savior of the Citadel and vanquisher of the Collectors, beaten by Cerberus. Beaten by the Reaper. And blaming himself for something no one could've stopped.
Kaidan sat down next to him.
'It wasn't your fault.' - He wouldn't believe it.
'We'll make Cerberus pay.' - He wouldn't care about it right now.
'You've done everything you could.' - He would say he didn't.
All he could do was sitting next to him, looking at him, worrying about him. And after a while, John moved back a little, firmly leaning against Kaidan's chest, not saying anything at all. The biotic shifts a little, putting his hand in John's neck, gently holding him while John turns his head. He pressed his forehead against Kaidan's, eyes closed, brows furrowed, teeth gritted, thinking about what should've been, could've been and will never be at all.
John clenched his fits, fighting down all anger and despair for now, trying to focus on the task at hand. It took him a while, but finally he opened his eyes, a blue pair meeting a brown one, telling Kaidan all the things his commander doesn't want to say right now.
Kaidan didn't need a 'Thank you' or anything like this. He only needed to know that John would be alright, getting up again even though he was laying on the ground right now.
"We'll make them pay", John finally said. And the only thing Kaidan could do at this rate was to nod and to tell him that none of them would ever get tired of kicking some Cerberus' or Reaper's butts.

This is a BIG improvement! Their expressions are very well done and the post edit makes it look like done in Source Film maker (which is a way better program than XNALara, but the models are rare and I do not want to bother even trying it).
Spotlight rocks a lot. It's use is just perfect here. I like their poses, too. Very realistic and asdfghjklö Kaidan.
I like the ficlet, too. I've missed them. Almost forgot we wrote them at the beginning.
Both, text and picture are subtle, unlike my stuff. I think this magic is the thing people like about your works so much.

Thanks! I wanted them to be realistic, and I don't wanted anyone to think that they're relaxed. That's why I changed John's arms and hands a lot.
It may be not very nice to say that, but I had a lot of fun with Kaidan's expression. Those eyebrows are killing me
And the ficlet was very spontaneously, I wrote it even before the artwork was finished. But since I missed them, too, I added it after all. Even though I like a picture to explain itself

Ich musste lange suchen, aber dann hab ich doch noch ne Option gefunden, das einzustellen bzw. reinzubauen, das wollte ich unbedingt haben <3

Das musste ich einfach einbringen. Wenn ich schon schreibe, dass das Aquarium der Lichtbringer ist, dann muss da auch Licht her (und dann mach das mal, wenn du keine Ahnung hast, wie das geht 
Darum hab ich ne größere Version hochgeladen (ein wenig zu groß >__<), dass man zur Not auch noch mal voll ranzoomen kann

Jepp, genau da. Ein bisschen zurechtgerückt und dann hat es eigentlich alles so weit gepasst mit der Beleuchtung. Und die restlichen Schatten sind eh wieder manuell gemacht

Aber auch die Uniformen sehen so sauber und glatt aus und Kaidans Gesicht ist viel schmaler. Erinnert mich ein bisschen an Sharilins Werke, nur mit dem besseren Pairing.

Der Unterschied ist dennoch verblüffend. Ich fand einige deiner Bilder etwas zu dunkel, aber mit einer zusätzlichen Lichtquelle wirkt das richtig gut.

Auf meinem Bildschirm hat immer alles gepasst (auch auf der Arbeit) und meine Bildschirme sind schon dunkel eingestellt

It's Shepard's lowest point in the game. BioWare really missed an opportunity to give us a great moment with the LI.
