My first proper kinda realistic digital piece ^.^Inspired by my little trip to Versailles and playing too much Assassin's Creed Unity, it's a portrait of Marie Antoinette, the Queen of Cake.
A bit of knowledge on her: she was beheaded at the guillotine during the French Revolution, being the queen of France at the time.
In my opinion, she was completely spoiled and probably had no idea this was coming. I find her story somewhat melancholic, that she never knew any better, that not everybody could have enough money to eat cake instead of basic bread. So the piece depicts a kind of ignorance, as even though her throat is slit and there's blood dripping down, she still seems as though she could have a tea party and eat one last slice of cake.

This is fantastic! Beautifully done. I think Marie A had it coming btw. There's no excuse for such ignorance and stupidity, even with her pampered upbringing.

I really liked your drawing and shared it with my facebook page about Marie Antoinette with credit to you and a link back to you here - see www.facebook.com/Rococo-Art-14… I agree that Marie Antoinette was quite spoiled and also arrogant always brought up to regard herself as royalty entitled by birth to rule. She met a very sad end and went through amazing events along the way. I hope you will draw her again - perhaps even illustrate some of those amazing events in her life.

My pleasure! Two of the events I find so interesting and dramatic are the confrontation of the rich spoiled Queen by the peasant rabble - the march of women on Vesrailles in October 1789, and then the arrest of the Queen and King at Varennes when they tried to escape France in June 1791. It would be interesting to see the look on her face and also the contrast of the attire of the Queen in her riches confronted by her poor ill-clad subjects.

Very interesting events indeed and what a site to imagine as they both contrast very well. Rich royalists against the commoners. Rich beautiful lady like the queen against some revolutionary ladies who had some beauties as well. This would be a great piece of artwork to see. By the way, I love this photo.
