Pementa means 'pepper' in Galician, I originally thought it meant peppermint, which would have suited the palette, but i was informed by Jiyugami of the word's origins ;u; I've fallen in love with the name though so I won't change it to another word that means peppermint xDThis took forever! I've been working on it for ages because school's been getting in the way, and I was also researching and learning new techniques for digital art painting :3
I used a tutorial for the eyes here: tincek-marincek.deviantart.com… by tincek-marincek which was extremely helpful in improving my understanding of light and that CG look that some artists are masters of. Now I need to get the rest of the composition right xD

Yes I totally agree, I've been trying out heaps of different digital art methods, this one I used grey scaling then a final overlaying of colour.
I'll be trying a different technique next which hopefully brings all the elements together a bit better ^-^

I've always started with a foreground sketch, then after that u would do the background sketch and then id do the separate layers of coloring and all the annoying steps haha

before I just did the character sketch, then in the last 20 mins of making the whole thing I whip up a trashy background lol, so bad ;u; but I'm working on it xD

Those eyes! Green... like peppermint indeed X3 I am impressed by the eye details as well the light effects on it
Looks like there are details on her pupils, like reflections of the place around her
Awww, all the composition, her hair, this braid aroiund her head and loose hair, the face with the perfectly alligned eyebrows, and all, she is sooo gorgeous ^^
A pretty lady, soo calm too! This is something her face transmit: a deep and almost infinite calm. Those blue-green shirt (and the elegant detail of the collar) and shadow add much to the feeling of cool-ness and calm-ness. hehe, but as peppermint, she can be cool like mint, and hot like pepper!
The face shape and skin, as well the intense green eyes, makes me think in an iberian girl, or a middle east (syrian / lebanese) one.
But must confess: at first glance, this shirt made me think she could be a crew woman of the USS Enterprise

But yes she is supposed to be middle-eastern :3 I just didn't quite get the clthing style to reflect it very well hahah
