Phoenix sighed loudly as she laid herself down on the soft, warm bed. Whatever this strange new world was, it was nonetheless a confusing one. All the humans seemed to dance between wanting to touch her ears and running away in fear of her shining axe. After wandering around the strange city of bright lights and funny sounds, Phoenix began wondering where she could find something to eat. Following her nose, she trailed the scent of freshly cooked meat that wafted through the streets. When she arrived at the source of the delicious aroma, she found herself standing in front of a metallic hotdog stand, it's plating glistening with the headlights of passing vehicles. Standing behind the cart was a young woman, tall with short hair. The fox couldn't help but stare at this human.

The woman's eyes locked on Phoenix's, "OH! Hey girl! Your such a little cutie!"
Reaching out her hand, the hotdog vendor began to gently run her fingers through Phoenix's orange locks.

A lump formed in Phoenix's throat as she struggled to respond. "M-meat"

The young woman paused, thoroughly confused. "Meat?" She asked.

The fox cleared her throat and asked more coherently, "I'd like some of the meat you're vending. If you'd be so kind."

The woman thought for a second, then responded, "Well, I'd have no problem giving you some food, but I'd really like to have your owner's permission first."

Phoenix cocked to her to the side, her ears perking up, "Owner? I'm my own fox, I am not owned by anyone nor shall I ever be!" With this Phoenix brandished her axe and scowled furiously to emphasize her statement.

While she meant to intimidate the vendor, instead a look of emphatic concern crossed the woman's face. "So, do you have a place to stay?"

Phoenix's fiery determination subsided to humble confession, "I've not thought that far. I assume tonight I'll sleep under the moon." Phoenix looked up at the evening skies and hoped that the moon existed in this mundane plane as well. It would be one of the few things that did.

The young lady shook her head, "No that won't work at all, Animal Containment will get you for sure. Tonight, you're bunking with me." The woman pointed at herself and grinned from ear to ear. A feeling of nervousness began to form in the pit of the fox's stomach.
