Alison Blaire. The light-casting mutant known as the Dazzler. She is an occasional member of the clandestine group of "outlaw" heroes known as the X-Men. But she is also an extremely talented singer. As well as a dancer, a model and an actress. Alison, or Ali, is also a certified physical fitness instructor, a gymnast, a marathon runner and a motocycle enthusiast. In regards to the latter Ali has taken up competitive racing.

Johnny Storm. The Human Torch. The flamboyant flaming one-forth of the world famous Fantastic Four. The playboy of the group Johnny is also a gifted mechanic and, due to the tutelage of Reed Richards, an engineer. Ever since he was a teenager Johnny has been a race car enthusiast and, over the years, compeated in numerous races. Lately he has taken an interest in motorcycles and racing them.

And so the day came when Ali and Johnny discovered they were competing in the same race. And when it was learned two super hero celebrities were in the race a publicity photo shoot was set up. Afterwards Dazzler and the Torch shook hands and wished each other luck.
