He looks very friendly, and in some strange way too happy. He was a person I would surely like ...

I cant wait to see your project. Are you in high school or college? I have two daughters in high school, a freshman and senior. My oldest daughter is going to go to college for art.

Well,
as of now I am in High School.
I am actually going to be a Freshman myself.
Most of the teachers are proud of what I'm doing, I'm in Student Council. It's very fun.
My Uncle was in the Army, and now my cousin is in the Navy, so I'm also having a fundraiser for packages and such for troops in Afghanistan, and Iraq.
Also, getting people to write to families of fallen soldiers, and to soldiers themselves who have no families.
And that's awesome, a Freshman and a Senior. That must be difficult.. I'm just saying.
Haha, my Older brother is going to be a Senior, my mom says it's really hard raising kids our age.
That's amazing your Daughter is going to Art for College, I would like to do that. And also go to school for Forensic, and Pyschological Anthropolgy.

Sounds like you are busy in high school, thats great. My girls are too busy at times between athletics, band etc. My son is 20 and he is in the Army. He is stationed in South Korea, has 8 months left before he can come back to the USA. We all miss him so much. Thanks so much for all you are doing for the troops, I will tell my son about your efforts, it will make him feel good.
Take care...Bob

Please, tell your son I say thank you so much for all he is doing, and to stay safe.

What a great portrait! Even better is the feeling I get from it that I can't quite explain or understand even. I wish I could have that kind of happy. When everything is complete shit in Cleveland, I can still smile.

Beautiful shot.
This picture makes feel sad and happy and hopefully because although he is homeless and probably had a hard life, his smile is just, amazing.

The thing I adore about this picture is the fact that he's smiling. You can really see his character here. He's a real person. I love it!

May I use this picture for my speech class? I'm going to show people the things that we take for granted and the lives of homeless people. I figured since the homeless recycle what we throw away, we should recycle abandoned warehouses and help them.

Thanks for this beautiful picture. It inspired me to do do a painting of a homeless for school. I think itΒ΄s very sad that most people simply walk by and pretend not to see those people. I love his smile. ItΒ΄s hopeful And everyone deserves hope and a home. Especially people like him! Thanks again for this picture!

His eyes are so deep, full of hope. He does resemble Christ. I live near Toronto and always want to give the people I see spare change or a hot coffee, but my father always discourages it. Maybe because he grew up in the city and has seen too many sad faces. I think as people get older, they lose the desire to help that children and teens have. I never want to lose that. Thank you for this photo.

daveant In reply to lkscreamer [2007-11-24 00:17:27 +0000 UTC]
This man is at the same street corner in downtown Cleveland Ohio every day. I would give him spare change as I had it. One day I walked by and stopped to give him some money, he said "thank you. I thought I was invisble, nobody would look at me" I raised my camera and asked him to smile, and this is the photo.
Thanks for asking about the story.
