A friend of mine has an autistic child. We were talking about it a while ago and he said "There's a storm raging in his mind all the time". That statement stuck with me. This is my take on the battle that the child faces daily...2/17/11 - Holy crap! Getting near 10,000 faves and over 100,000 views. That's just amazing.

I have an Autistic son, and this photo is spot on, wish more people understood how it effects someone that deals with turmoil of this illness everyday, instead they choose to bully them and make fun. thank you for sharing your wonderful work!

To me the colours are seen to be artificial and through injection will appear foreign to the mind, maybe that is what some of the concepts we accept, might be like to people with autism.
I really like it.

Having Aspergers, I can somewhat relate to the "storm inside the mind" analogy. And there's something about this photo, maybe the contrast of tasteful colors combined with the fascinating visual analogy, that my brain just finds delicious. Excellent work.

my little brother could say sentences and full of energy. super social , "ball" is the only word i remembeer him saying, but my mom remembers more. when i was six and my brother was 2 we got our MMR shots. he became autistic. it took my mom awhile to figure out what had happend. i don't care what the arguments are for the shots, if you must give your kids shots, space em out. its too much on a lil brain and it will mess up the wiring...thanks for sharing this picture

I have epilespy....My parent's are always worried , causing me to worry also. I'm always in the hospital and I have damage in my right arm. Does that stop from drawing? NO. I'm one of the best drawers at my school, and best poets. I try and try. I'm going into a advanced gifted program called APC in high school next year, only a few students go into. And look at me now (lol that's a song >U<)
My brain and arm always hurt, this picture represents all the painful shots my head and arm, and some other places, stomach, shoulder, etc. I love this picture, It represents so much detail with the colors and everything.
