Of course that's cool, I love all the icky-wicky bugs that crawl through space, but I also like this because it makes some cool sense; Riding a comet that fast you couldn't possibly hope to survive landing on whatever planet you run into. However, if you were a giant mite-like bug creature you'd have powerful legs to propel you off the rock and hopefully float down to the hopefully non-hazardous planet, just like running and jumping off the back of a moving train; You could even use the shock wave from the meteor (I'm sorry, comet) impact to break your fall, if you jump close to the surface. I mean insects are usually tough enough to withstand stuff like this anyway (I'm talking about earth-bugs to scale and not just your typical bug, they couldn't survive something as crazy as riding a meteor into the ground [okay again, sorry, COMET]), but why put extra energy into making some special adaptation when you can let physics do all the work?
And another thing about bugs: they're cheap. Specifically, for each species eggs are about a dime a dozen... thousand. So while this guy might not necessarily make it, just remember that space is big, and who knows how many of these rock-riders are travelling around the cosmos?

You don't see that every day. O_O It'd be a funny sight though. XD

PLEASE come to Earth. I'd love to see this thing in person. Before it would eat me, of course.

woah, killer creature design and amazing rendition of space! I love all the particles you've got going on. Did you have to run a layer through a filter to get that look?

Thanks again. I think I added a layer with some noise.
