Description So, since I'm restarting the story, I'm redesinging the characters. These are not their final designs, but I want something close to this.

The librarian cat will be black from now on, or at leas a dark volor, and he'll be a littl more athletical.

About dragoness. I had to take her wings off because those things would not help the indoors scenes.

And I decided to make her more mammal like, And, yes, she has boobies .

YOU HAPPY NOW????

And of course the'll have real names. I just haven't thought about them yet...

Well, hope you like this!

You know, I really like these designs. Plus, they fit the characters in personality as well. I mean the Librarian cat, Alreya isn't it, is a kind of darker character, whereas the dragon does have a lighter personality.

And while I am sad to say I agree with the decision to crop the wings, you don't have to remove them completely. Giving her the ability to summon them when she needs to get some extra air or speed is cool, and adds to the mystery and mystical elements of her character.

I have a suggestion for names.

The dragon girl is Kendra, which sounds like a dragon name, and the cat is Ben, which I thought fit his job as a librarian.

Just some ideas I thought you could put to use.

Hey, man, I think you were too late. I already have a name for them both, and the idea of the wings doesn't fit the new story. BTW, he's Alexei and she's Aerys.

Well better late than never.

However you could still use my idea so you can keep her wings. I'd love to see something like that.

When will the new comic be out?

I'm not sure. I'm working on it. I want to have a certain number of pages done before I start posting them.

But the idea of the wings is off, completely. It doesn't fit in the story, and it wouldn't hel in anything.

Well...

Nope, no, not going to debate it, this is your story!

Personally I can't wait to see the new story. How many pages are you going to try and have before putting them up? And is that for some time to come up with more?

I like your characters, and I'm curious if your dragon one, Aerys I think, gets any special powers for, y'know, being a dragon. Does she?

Man, I'm gonna ruin your expectations...

The story is gonna have a more realistic approach. There's not gonna be any "magic" in it. The "dragon" species is named that way just because they resemble mythology dragons.

yugijak In reply to davi-escorsin [2013-03-01 02:02:58 +0000 UTC]

That doesn't ruin them...that only alters them.

I bet you have some really cool stuff planned. I'm sure it will be epic.

So why did you start this comic series? Why are you writing it?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

davi-escorsin In reply to yugijak [2013-03-02 01:37:46 +0000 UTC]

I started making the first comic, with the "librarian cat" and the "dragoness" as a test. Once I noticed it made a relatively big success, I started developing it, and I realized I had to remake it.

Once things started to get a more serious, I remade the characters, and the whole story. In fact, I wrote a story. The first comic didn't have one.

Could you tell me more about the story?

What will be the primary category? The secondary?

How long will it run?

What is the summary?

davi-escorsin In reply to yugijak [2013-03-03 20:31:36 +0000 UTC]

Sorry, can't tell anything about the story. All I can't tell is that it's not gonna be too long. At least not on my planning.

yugijak In reply to davi-escorsin [2013-03-03 22:31:54 +0000 UTC]

Aww. I like long stories.

Well, maybe it will be multi-generational. That would be cool.

Now if it's popular, will you extend the story?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

davi-escorsin In reply to yugijak [2013-03-03 22:58:30 +0000 UTC]

No, I'm against extending a story just because of the success of it. I like when people want to see more of my work, but there's a difference between wanting to expand and being a cheap prostitute.

I'm saying this, because this kind of attitude creates sequels such as Matrix reloaded and revolutions, Indiana Jones and the crystal skull or the new movies of starwars(I'm not a fan of starwars, but the new movies suck when you compare them to the old ones.). I pray everyday so that hollywood don't make a sequel of Godfather.

It's better when it ends in a good way. If my story makes success, I don't want to ruin it because of greed.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

yugijak In reply to davi-escorsin [2013-03-03 23:35:51 +0000 UTC]

Oops.

No, no, I don't mean for greed, although it would seem like that.

Sorry.

And yes, you're right.

Hmm, maybe if someone else comes up with one, that might be interesting.

Anyway, I meant more out of love for the characters and story out of anything. I guess I have trouble finishing because of lack of interest. I just seems no one likes my work at all.

I guess that's the difference between you and me. You can work without interest.

davi-escorsin In reply to yugijak [2013-03-04 20:27:42 +0000 UTC]

I know you didn't mean it. It's just that I'm totally against this kind of stuff.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

yugijak In reply to davi-escorsin [2013-03-04 22:29:30 +0000 UTC]

I can completely understand.

Actually, one of the reason's I want to get into game design is to bring gaming back to it's roots, make it so they aren't so...watered down you might say.

I want to make games that are GAMES, not interactive movies.

You know what I mean, right?

davi-escorsin In reply to yugijak [2013-03-05 01:12:47 +0000 UTC]

Totally agree. No more quick time events.

yugijak In reply to davi-escorsin [2013-03-05 02:05:03 +0000 UTC]

Well, I don't mind QTEs, except when they go overboard.

An example would be something like the more recent Resident Evil games. While having QTEs to allow you one last chance to escape or create a flashy finish on a boss character isn't such a bad thing, spamming it out the ass for lack of any better ideas is.

Also, newer horror games are just jump scares. While I'm not a fan of horror generally, I do like the ones that work on deeper levels to leave a lasting effect and that tell a story. Kind of like SAW, where they put brains over brawn to put the fear in you.

Actually, I came up with an idea for a shooter that might actually do just that; give people something to truly be afraid of, or at least get them some good old school stuff.

I like the old school. How about you?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

davi-escorsin In reply to yugijak [2013-03-06 22:32:49 +0000 UTC]

That depensds. People usually firget that there are good and bad games, even back in the snes day.

I like some of the classics, like sonic, bomberman and chrono trigger.

And, about the QTE, I'm totally against it. I think it's like, when you're playing, the programer comes to you and says; "Look, we didn't have a better idea for this part of the game, so we're gonna play it for you, and all you'll have to do is to press the correct buttons at the correct time, like a moron." I mean, today we got technology to do amazing thins in video games. I wanna play it. I don't want to see an interactive movie.

yugijak In reply to davi-escorsin [2013-03-06 23:27:39 +0000 UTC]

Okay...now I see where you're coming from.

Though it would be nice if you could have it both ways, a sort of semi-QTE that allows you to control what happens to an extent.

Instead of being forced to press one button or do one action, the game goes on and you're allowed options. Such as you can either spin the stick to grab the zombie on your back and start a spinning attack or you can jab a button quickly to throw him off.

It's probably one of those things I'll have to do myself, like having tiered AI so that difficulties are actually harder on a mental scale instead of you hit weaker while they hit harder.

That sounds good, right?

davi-escorsin In reply to yugijak [2013-03-07 19:53:47 +0000 UTC]

Dunno. I really like the idea that I'm in control, you know? I mean, I'm the one playing it, right? I really like games that let you do things the way you want instead of the way the programer wants.

It is true that the wings would definitely not help for indoor scenes, but I like her old design better. Also I am not the author nor artist for what will be a lovely story. I just like how you had her as your not so typical woman. Good sketches for these two!! ^w^

Man, I have so much trouble with wings too. Artistically anything with wings is a pain for so many reasons. Not only can they be hard to draw but they tend get in the way. Wan't that awesome back angle FAIL wings in the way! Anyhoo love your work!

Maybe I'm just not fussy, so I like these too. Wish she had some wings, even vestigial ones, and at least the boobs are not to the point of being tripped over. I liked the glasses on the older style dragoness, even though we should not respond completely to visual cues, the glasses did lend maturity to the character. Cat is pretty good in the update and you do cat characters so well, he could be any color.

Hmm... To be totally honest I preferred much of the old look for librarian cat, but am content with this new look for the most part. As for the dragoness... Well to be blunt I find it way to drastic. I really loved the old look for the dragon, and derived much enjoyment from the fact that, well, she actually looked like a dragon. It gave her a sort of strength and solid sense of character. It also added to the gentleness she showed, and made the romance between her and the cat more of a big deal. The relationship actually felt odd, and that's what made it special. I understand that these are your character, and I wont be one of the people who stands back and constantly yells "Yeah but it's not as good as the original!". But I must say that I will always miss those old designs...
(Also I liked the dragons better without breasts, but that's more personal preference I suppose.

I hope the designs go well in the future. I can't wait to see their finished forms.

To be honest I still have that feeling of "But it will never be the same!", but thanks for still providing the old characters for those of us less open minded. We really appreciate it.

wow nice changes! I really love how dragoness looks. Tho I still kinda prefer the old librarian cat's design. This one looks really cool but it gives much different impression than the previous one. But it's just my opinion ^^ Can't wait to see the comic again. I'm really curious about the story : D
