Ah... a philosophical response. Well... OK, lets ponder this a moment then. The journey around a torus could be "infinite" for the particles involved. But it would also in a sense be finite. So I think I'm somewhat skeptical about the "infinite" part. Space could theoretically be infinite, but also, perhaps not. If Space is finite the energy contained within it is also liable to be finite. That's not to say it's small, just not infinite. And then there is the question of "free". I remember, being a child of the 70's, how robots were going to free the workers from their daily labours - the workers imagined this would mean they would get more holidays, but what it actually meant was that they were put out of their well paid manufacturing jobs and ended up on the social. So... It all depends who owns the machines that make the "free" energy.

I am talking about a more enlightened level of societal consciousness whenever I imagine my interpretation of the most desirable future. People would be beyond the vanity of the societies today. I view the situation we are faced with today as an evolutional step ladder. This horribly disharmonious period we are going through, as a species, is a great opportunity to rise above the problems, overcome them and thrive. I know this may sound like theories or dreans, but I believe that if an idea is rooted in love and appreciation for everything in existence, it is worth expressing and even fighting for! I guess I am trying to raise my spirit, for the journey ahead!
I love this place and I will get depressed and die if I do not find a way to help the collective I am a part of as me, as a being. You see, it takes a certain degree of understanding to develop such technology. Without the understanding of the idea of unconditional love, there is only so much information one can access for the creation of machinery. The most advanced technology comes from understanding of the "spiritual laws" of this omniverse we are currently a part of and in the process of experiencing it, from trillions upon trillions of unique perspectives, each being little universe in and of itself!
Just to make it clear, I have had some experiences, which are adding up, like a step ladder, and I am being lead from one piece of information to the next, by my own spirit. I did not read this stuff and went: "ah, I like this style of writing" and adopted it
I do not deny my spirit, because that is just a silly thing to do, no matter how I look at it. Hope I didn't come off as rambling, just felt like I had something to say ^_^

My thoughts are more skeptical. I think that while we have technology humans have not evolved very much in the last 50,000 years and will probably not advance very much in the next either - that is if we last that long. That we are essentially bio-mechanical vessels that came about due to survival pressures in which consciousness proved an advantage in adapting to a changing environment, an environment we are in the process of modifying on a global scale - for good or ill. Individually we seem capable of seeing it is a bad idea to pour sewage into our back yards, but collectively we seem to lack this insight. Aside from the physical limitations of the universe - or at least our bit of it - I'm not sure there are any other laws and we are only limited by our imagination and such self restraint as we choose to bring to bear. The only way I can see society becoming enlightened is through education, but even then, even among the educated there is disagreement and, if you will, disharmony.
Is this time more disharmonious than any other? I don't believe so.
Can technology save us from ourselves? Possibly.
Will society become more enlightened? A little bit, with luck. Keep religion out of politics, keep politics out of the home and teach science, economics and maths, not media studies and there's a slim chance.
Am I a cynic? Yeah probably.

A cynic eh? Well, if you pardon the double standard, I am rather cynical about cynics!
Well, to elaborate, I do not consider them inferior in any way, I just find it stupid to have the intellect to perceive on a level that most people don't and choose to unconsciously squander that potential by limiting your awareness to the confines of a little mental box (or in the case of a cynic, a collection of rigidly interconnected boxes with little flexibility in their connections). It is only when a cynic allows himself/ herself to access that little bit of optimism, one that shakes up your beliefs and calls you to re-examine your world view, that they realize how stupid they were, thinking they knew so much and having a stance on life such as that, and just laugh the whole thing off in forgiveness of themselves and with a new appreciation for life and their being.
I don't judge, I was a cynic too. It took me some time and some mind blowing experiences to make me realize that the most beneficial stance towards life is the one that is based on the universal laws of love. I admit, I needed to re-define my meaning of love to fully get this phrase in my subjective experience. It is the highest energetic vibration of our omniverse, the same vibration as beauty and appreciation, meaning that you tune in to this vibe when you look at something you like! This is the sort of stuff that humanity really needs to start looking into, because it has the potential to return us back on our evolutional path, well, not that we are not on it right now, we are just in a VERY disharmonized state and we need to either heal or we will perish as a species!
But all is not bad, simply because if we want to change stuff, we have SO MANY tools at our disposal and the good news is, you do not have to change others, you only have to change yourself. Reality 101: Belief creates reality. You can not perceive anything that your brain is not wired to perceive. It is a flawless natural mechanism of the human, and not only, experience in this reality. If you ever wished to confirm this, you can look up the information. There is a loooot of stuff to crunch through, so you may not have time or the interest to do that.
Either way, life's awesome when you create and move towards your joy, even if that joy would be characterized by others as a "lost cause". Fighting against the odds for a "lost cause" is like soul-porn to me

Well that's the thing, it is too easy to deceive ourselves and not see things for how they are. In the end probably the best thing is to focus on being a good citizen, get on with our own lives and jobs without concerning ourselves too much with what other people are doing and pay our taxes so the government can get on with its job looking after the country as a whole. I believe if everyone did that then we would all collectively be better off.

Pardon me but that sounds like death to me. Especially after learning more about our loving government. I woke up from the dream, realizing it was a nightmare and I will never have a "normal" life. You want to know how I see things?
I see a lying government pushing for wars, more surveillance and even microchips, so we can all be more subservient and be controlled with the push of a button. I see bankers destroying the economy for their own greed. I see doctors working with big pharma to undermine real cures and fill the markets with their filth that is full of toxins. I see Monsanto, the corporation that basically owns almost all brands of food on the market to be selling us toxic un-food, genetically modified crops that reduce our fertility and genetically modify US! I see scientists who are ridiculed for suggesting new theories. I see cancer patients dying of violent treatments, when there are SO MANY ALTERNATIVE cures available! I see another war being created slowly, so that we all succumb to their goal of creating a world army to enforce the world government, which will be a totalitarian police state, without any freedom that would lead to us realizing that there is more to life than this filthy prison we locked ourselves in collectively. THIS IS NOT NORMAL. I don't care how much they control your mind, if you view this as normal, you are wrong! (not YOU per-se, any "you" can fit here, obviously)
Excuse me, but I think will continue to "deceive" myself, because someone has to point these things out and energize others to do the same and unite for collective action, because this is not something that can be fought head-on and violently, only a peaceful resolution will be enough to stop our demise. Humans are living in a trance, as if they were really in the matrix. We all have a programmed perception of this world and there is a HUGE attempt to close our minds and isolate us from the truths of this universe that would set us free!
We are being led to our demise by unconscious and close minded idiots who consider themselves the Creme-De-la-Creme of our species and therefore superior to us. The people blindly accept the truth that their corrupt leaders give them, not even looking beyond the okie-doke, simply because subconsciously we all know things are fucked up, we have just given away our voice for the sake of iPhones and stupid crap we don't even need!
Didn't mean to come off as negative, it is just that this has been my main focus for the past 2 years, ever since I discovered that I am more than just a meatbag with fancy electricity in a particular organ being the main reason for it's life-like state! I refuse to be defined by the world around me and be told what I am. Anyway, you struck a heartstring there, so pardon me, yet again, if I bored you. Have a good one

Well much of that depends on the government you have. Here in the UK the politicians are pretty good (obviously not perfect, but pretty good) and the laws are by and large sensible. Democracy works pretty well, although my own view is that we should try to reduce the state bureaucracy and mitigate EU interference, as things stand, I'd say religious extremists were the biggest threat to society.
