Description
The only childhood friend of the pony who would one day become King Sombra, Radiant Hope was viewed more as an outcast by her fellow crystal ponies. But what distinguishes herself from all of them is that she is the only unicorn crystal pony, and her talents of using magic to heal the cellular damage of another makes her a pony to be reckoned with. When she discovers the true nature of who and what King Sombra is, after he is locked away by Celestia and Luna in the far north, Radiant Hope makes contact with his people and remains with them in the shadow world for a thousand years. In all that time, the naive and childlike Radiant Hope is played for a fool by them, who hopes to use her to return King Sombra to his full might so that the shadow ponies can be freed. When the truth emerges and the Crystal Empire falls again, Radiant Hope becomes greatly disillusioned; she had gathered all of the enemies of Twilight Sparkle and her best friends so that Hope could restore her only friend back to power, yet nothing happened in the way she wanted it to, and a thousand years of being lied to compounded the disillusionment. It was her doubt that made King Sombra doubt himself for the first time ever, doubting his own darkness and supposedly inherently-evil nature. In the end, it was such doubt that made him turn against his own people so that Equestria can be saved. As with Sombra, her current whereabouts are unknown, but she is still regarded to be unpopular and a traitor to her fellow crystal ponies, even if their own leaders had forgiven Hope and Sombra for their crimes.
