.... "full air restrictor removal, and modified ammo cartridge to flip out fully."

Do tell! Where do I find this kind of information out?!?!?

There have been a couple of write-ups done on some of the Nerf modding forums online. Just do a search for Maverick on nerfhaven.com or nerfhq.com in their modification section.

Wonderful paintjob =] What type of paint did you use?

Thanks. I used a combination of Rust-Oleum spray paint for the base colors and Testor's Enamel model paint for the details.

Now, the air restrictors are the plastic sticks inside the dart chambers, right?

Yeah.

Couldn't they easily be snapped out with a pair of needle-nose pliers? Or is there something more behind the back of the dart chamber?

To remove the air restrictors, you actually need to do a bit more than snap the posts off. The first post on this forum topic has a decent tutorial on air restrictor removal [link]

Funny I should find this. I personally own a maverick and was planning on painting it in a steampunk style. Awesome job on yours.

Thanks. I gotta admit that the Maverick is one of the most satisfying Nerf guns to modify. A little sandpaper, a screwdriver, and some paint can really make something nice.

Don't feel bad about owning a Nerf gun. I'm 28 and have about five of them.
