Love those shadows...the lighting is awesome. I also like your choice of aperture...keeping the backgorund out of focus. Very nice!

Thank you for the compliment, I am sorry to hear about you dog though. Pets can touch us in a way that people can't...I hope that you get another dog when you are ready - their companionship is invaluable.

haha, so true. I really like the darkened corners, it for some reason gives it a very timeless picture-frame quality. the lighting is also nice.

Wow, this is a good one. I love how you have managed to capture the dog looking directly into the camera. It really gives it a kind of personal feel, you know. I also like the colours and the focus. Good job!

I think I know what the guy above wants when he says crop it. I would imagine he just wants the dog's head in the photo, but I dont see why cause I think you would lose what makes this photo so good. The dog's expression is priceless and the background framing his head really contrasts the grey tones of the dog.

I agree, I think the background makes him stand out and puts the photo in scale - I appreciate your opinion.

"We at Greyhound..." oh sorry...heheh....I like the strong, clear focus on the dog and the fuzzt background...they do that a lot in movies, but Ilike it a lot better here.

Oh, what a pretty dog! I love it...I love all dogs actually, but I like this one a lot. *hugs the dog* Great shot!

The funny thing is that he is pretty rare...in that he really like hugs. Many dogs will tolerate them, Zach will sit in front of you and raise his head indicating - hug me now.
Thank you for the compliment

i like dogs....but this pic just doesnt work for me
I think if i was shooting this, id shoot it in black and white
whiemeriners (sp?) have shiny coats and that would look good
and id probsbly crop it a little better

Thank you for an honest opinion...finally!
How would you crop it differently? It was kind of a spontaneous portrait so it seemed natural to crop it this way, any sugestions would be appreciated.

I do have photoshop...but I guess what I was wondering was -In your opinion should I keep it the same size and do it black and white, or should I crop it to some other size and do it in black and white.
