Description

Although I'm very busy with work at the moment, I finally found some time last weekend to paint a sketch I had lying around since February.

I like H. P. Lovecraft's cosmic horror stories a lot, especially The Shadow Over Innsmouth, The Color Out Of Space and, of course, The Call Of Cthulhu.

They're not easy reads because they're essentially early 20th century pulp stories, written by an intellectual recluse harbouring deeply racist and anti-Semitic views. There's a lot to critically unpack about the author, but researching his troubled history deepens the understanding of the literary sub-genre he founded.
