Description ::gasp!:: she lives!! no I am not dead, but I have been super busy!

But right now I need your opinions! I had to make an image for my digital imaging class that illustrated an idiom (which is basically a metaphorical expression, like 'cat got your tongue') I don't care if you know absolutely nothing about manipulations or have never made anything in photoshop, I'd still like to hear your thoughts! The original image is realllly big, it's 8x13 inches and this one I shrunk down to 3x4 inches I think it is.

I chose to do my idiom on 'written in the stars' and we were supposed to use at least 5 different images and blend them together. The first image is the woman with just the sand at her feet (except for the left side b/c the image wasn't wide enough and I had to add that and then blended it all with the water), the background with the lake and mountains and trees, the pictures of the words in the sky, the moon, and the stars.

How does the blending look? Do you see anything that sticks out or looks like it doesn't blend well? What about the words in the sky? Do those look ok? I'm not sure how much I like them so thoughts are welcome! I'm most unhappy with the text on the little banner thingy but I give up! The final image is supposed to be a duotone and I picked this color, any thoughts? Does the overall image convey my idiom well?

All thoughts/comments/constructive criticism is welcome! This is due on Wednesday so let me know what you think!

hey thanks so much for letting me know! Did they remove a bunch of things though? I can't seem to find my picture there, so I'm wondering if they deleted some posts? Or maybe I'm just missing it?

They probably did. I went around an commented everyone.

They noted me and apologized, so I'm guessing they did remove it.

The manipulation is lovely and extremely well done; the piece is quite beautifully unified. I see you've probably handed it in already and I hope it goes over well. I agree about the text on the banner sticking out... I like the text you choose, it helps to convey what the piece needs to project, but I'd have layered and used transparency slightly differently... :cringe: it's easier to bounce ideas when in direct conversation, no matter what I type here sounds snooty and condescending so I'll just kill my commentary I'd typed. Course, if you want to hear thoughts, I'll try and catch you on aim sometime--lol, I'm much more comfortable discussing manipulations than your personal photography since I understand more about graphics design and photomanipulation than I do about photography. Grah, I'd kill for photoshop -jealous- ANYWHO, The image choices are fabulous and you did a wonderful job putting them together

... WOW. I think this is quite stunning, Rachel! I actually was looking at the text on the banner and was like, that looks *awesome*! Haha. I might not be the greatest of help, but I do very much like how this turned out! It's very pretty, and I like how you chose to convey the idiom you picked.
