Yesterday, I had Zim in my head all day so I decided to sit and watch some episodes. That obsession came back to me and decided to try drawing Zim, Dib, and Gaz in Illustrator. Originally I was going to have all three of them together in one picture but I'm still not finished with the siblings so I decided do them separately instead. Sorry for the simple background, too lazy to do one.Zim (C) Jhonen Vasquez

I love the pose. Any time I try to draw Zim I have difficulty with the proportions but somehow no matter how challenging a pose you have him in you always find a way to keep the proportions accurate and looking nice.
The background is a little confusing (are we on his ship?) but its consistent with the color scheme and helps carries the theme. On the topic of the color, his skin seems a tad pale for some reason? But that might just seem that way due to the contrasting purples and pinks. His body itself on the other hand is quite vibrant and stands out nicely from the background.
Really my only problem is all the little logos covering up the artwork. Mainly the watermark and the signature covering his hand. Tis a pet peeve of mine I suppose.
His expression is priceless. I keep being blown away by how amazing you are at capturing the mood of the show. It conveys Zim's arrogant attitude so perfectly. I like how his confidence is carried in every part, from the antennae to the fists. Even more impressive considering humans and other emotive life forms don't have antennae.

Oh glob, what can I say about this beauty? How about OHMYGOSHZIMLOOKSSIMPLYAWESOME!!! I love Zim's facial expression it looks as if he has a scheme up his sleeves. One thing I recommend was to make his sleeves a bit more darker and also the little spots on his PAK. I really enjoy this drawing because of it's clean feel and accurate proportions. It's really well done, and gives a great understanding of the perspective of Zim's body. It feels very simple yet has enough complexity to it to make it very compelling. The background goes well with the whole drawing too. It really helps define Zim and give him a good backdrop. The coloring and shading is well done, and matches the canon drawings well. On the topic of canon-ness (if that's a word) it does feel very close to an Jhonen Vasquez style drawing, but it has a newer cleaner feel to it.

I love your work for Invader aim!! Its my favorite show along with Hey Arnold, Teen titans and Ed Edd and Eddy! The line-work in this is wonderful! I feel like a animator actually drew this! The colors are great and spot on! I ignore the watermark since its such a lovely and great! The expression is also spot on! This is such a great piece I love it! It deserves to be in my favorites! The only problem is I Would totally give it a 5/5 stars on all of them expect its not really original Its amazing though!!!

That is still one of my favorite shows to this very day and no matter how long I go without watching it, I still manage to catch myself yelling for no reason like Zim or using Gir quotes. This turned out great. They will make a nice set when they are all done. And I will love you extra much if you draw the pig with Gir.
