I was reminded this morning that when Sonic's movie came out, a lot of people were going on about how Sonic's $57 million beat Pikachu's $54.3 million for opening weekend Box Office sales in the US. It was being used as some end all be all thing proving Sonic's superiority in some way. Not like it was exactly all that much, less than $4 million difference. Now with the Mario Bros smashing records like bricks, such as video game adaptation Best Opening Weekend & Highest-grossing, and Illumination's best ever period, I thought of this silly idea for those that were giving Detective Pikachu flak before.
