talking with my old friend SA,waving his arms and complaining,
telling me he was not astonished
that I looked like I had some
milder affliction,
and I was crawling into tomorrow,
and being closer to nothing.
told him he was being crass
as always, needed to listen.
has known us at a helpless level.
well knew me at that level,
and no one ever looks good at
last call. just don't stare at me
like that.
he said maybe I had been
waltzing with a shot of bourbon
too many times, and in the case
of emergency, DO NOT notify
him. he's not available.
you are not humanly fragile
I said, and thought I knew him.
Maybe that was a mistake.
yet he stirs my muse and
has no concerns
ever.
in the end I believe we both
have delved too deeply into
areas best left alone. walking into
rooms of fear undaunted,
holding hands as if we were freaks
from some zombie squad...
