Description Story in a bit

i kind of hate how it turned out but I’m not sure why. I’m also in such a shit mood lately, so that’s fun.

Ozzie heard the studio door open, his eyes left Spencer's work to meet his oldest child's eyes.
"Lexi locked me out of our room." She said rolling her eyes. Ozzie got up looking at her confused.
"Does she seem alright?" He asked moving passed her into the house.
"I don't know. We got off the bus and she just went straight in and locked the door."
"I'll go talk to her, stay with Spencer for a minute." He said grabbing a bottle of water from the fridge. He knocked on the door quietly and pressed his ear against it.
"Go away!" Lexies voice said shaking and wavering.
"Hey, it's me. What's going on?" Ozzie deep voice asked gently through the door. It was silent for a few moments until the door unlocked. He gently pressed it open as his daughter was curling back on her bed.

A pair of scissors and a mirror laid on the bed, surrounded by scattered clumps of fur and hair.
"Oh, honey. What are you doing?" Ozzie voice said softly as he closed the door and approached her. She sniffled, hiding her face from him in her sleeves. He gently lifted her chin up and her cheeks burned red over her patched fur, cut here and there.

Ozzie looked at a note on her bed and wrapped her into a hug. She clung onto him and her tears ran through his shirt.
"Its okay, they're just mean. You're beautiful no matter what." He said as she shook and gasped for air.

"No I'm not!" She wailed, clutching her fists around his shirt in the hug.
"Its okay, let it out." He said scratching her back softly until her breathing steadied and her tears trickled slower. "Will you let me help you?" Ozzie asked softly. She nodded her head and sniffles, pulling back from the hug to dry her eyes.

"I hate this. I hate how long it is and everyone teases me!" She said tugging the scruff of fur growing under her jaw and on her forearms. Ozzie gently pulled her fingers away from the patchy fur of her face.

"I know it's hard, especially being a little lady, with that draft fur coming in. I'm sorry you lucked out and inherited that gene from me. Let me show you how to help it, though." He said looking at her softly.

"Yours is okay long because you're a guy!" She shrugged. He smirked
"I'm not going to make you look like me." He laughed softly. He got up from the bed and motioned her to follow him. She followed him into the bathroom as he dug under the sink. He pulled out a set of clippers.

"Oh my God, dad, no. You're not teaching me to shave." Her ears pinned back.

"Its a helll of a lot better than scissors. Just trust me on this, okay?" He said softly. She approached him as he plugged in the clippers and dug out different guides. He fluffed one through her fur and switched it to a different one. He oiled the blade and turned it on. He began a smooth swipe against his daughters jawline, sheering the long draft hair from her face to the floor. He turned the clippers off and moved so she could look in the mirror at the side of her face now short hair. She ran her fingers against the smooth short fur and smiled.

Ozzie grinned a bit and hugged her into his side. He perched down a bit and showed her how to hold and angle the clippers.

You have a way of choosing seemingly small, but hugely meaningful subjects for your story.  It's things like this --good and bad--  that we never forget, and which we can all relate to.  Nice work.

Teenagers can be absolute bastards and bitches, especially in packs.
