Finished episode 1! I mean, technically I watched episode 2 of season 1, but it’s part of episode 1, so it’s episode 1. I guess the more important element was Magic, but… shut up?
I feel like this is a great opportunity to let you know my personal opinion on each episode as well! I mean, I have to watch every episode for each drawing, so why the hell not? You don’t wanna hear it? That’s too bad.
I personally felt episode 1 of Season 1 was a good intro to the series. Not my personal flavor-fav and the second part had a few irritable moments. Like Applejack representing the element of Honesty despite her test to prove had nothing to do with Honesty and was mostly trust, what the fuck was up with that? Was I not supposed to think about that? Kinda hard when they tried really hard to push it like that. Kinda muddles the message a bit.
Believe it or not, I thought Pinkie’s segment was weak. I know, I didn’t like my favorite characters segment very much. The song was good, but it really felt forced in for me at least and maybe it’s because I think too much, but besides scaring the Main 6, what was Nightmare Moon trying to do? They would eventually get over it and move passed the dumb little trees, she’s just delaying the inevitable. And what kind of weakness is laughter anyways? Just laughing destroys the trees? Not even laughter,chuckling works too. Do nervous chuckles works? Nightmare Moon’s plan was kinda dumb and each episode does kinda fall apart if you think a bit too hard on them.
I’m not saying the episode was terrible, I thought Nightmare Moon was a great villain, the jokes where great, and the story as a whole was well-constructed. Those two parts just bothered me a little.
