Description
The first of five hippocampus documentation pics i just randomly decided to do them one day, as i do with most things.

HIPPOCAMPUS REX- the 'king' hippocampus, purest species of all, the mythological half horse half fish well known and documented by the greek culture of old.
Of smaller stature than many current hippocampus, but with larger fins in proportion to body.
Hippocampus rex is a sea bed grazer and prefers warmer waters, though survives adequately in cool or cold environments, many have been sighted and thought to be living out to sea around the coasts of england.
Those of warmer climates have more vibrantly coloured coats and scales than their sea cousins.
