16" x 12" acrylic paint on stretched canvas. I originally started painting this to be another addition to my Oceans in Space series where I paint a different sea animal in space. The planet itself was going to be just a blue planet with a blue dragon sea slug next to it, but then I kept adding more detail and then it looked like Earth. Now looking at it, It looks really good as is. I know adding the sea slug is more my style and it would add more to the painting, but I kind of really like it as it is. I asked my group of friends their opinions and everyone is split 50/50 for or against. I don't know, I feel I would love the painting with or without the slug because of how it turned out. I will probably start another painting and paint the sea slug in space on the second canvas.
