She is, I did the original sketch in 1990 when i moved to a new tattoo shop after my disastrous apreticeship. and carried it with me for years.

... what disasterous apprenticeship??? I just can't imagine it being disasterous ... having seen your wonderful tattoos!

Deborah-Valentine In reply to SalHunter [2007-04-06 15:38:48 +0000 UTC]

The owner was a tweaker, some of the "hot shot guys" abused me, insulted me and because i had a job they told me that i was the "invisible apprentice" even though I cleaned the shop every morning and / or evening, made needles for 6 people, and the owner's girlfriend was jealous of my drawing ability so she got me fired...right after i quit my job for them, and just a week before x-mas. many days i would ask questions and it became 'opposite day". the owner would show me things. he was very intimidating and sarcastic. and right in front of me he tells someone , oh her, it goes right in one ear and out the other! and i grabbed my notebook and showed him that i had illustrated and made notes on everything he had said! I guess he looked like an ass in front of his buddy, but it didn't matter in the long run.

SalHunter In reply to Deborah-Valentine [2007-04-08 07:33:01 +0000 UTC]

Sounds like you were so good that he felt threatened by you! He didn't want to be second in ability ... especially to a woman perhaps? It doesn't matter now but I bet it really mattered then ... it sounds like he would never have accepted you anyway ... stupid bloke!

Darkestnightmare [2007-04-06 05:47:53 +0000 UTC]

Super cool. What kind of pencils do you use? I am trying to get back to drawing and working really hard on my figure drawing. My problem is that I'm left handed and work left to right and my pencil work ends up smudged. that's why I want to know if you use a really hard (H) pencil or what.
