“No! Ron! Stop, please, stop…”

The woman pleaded but laughed almost wildly at the same time she clanged to the ropes of the swing. She had never really been good with swings if they moved to fast, not even as a little girl. Roller coasters were completely out of the question. They had run around the farm playing chase and what not, just like a couple of teenagers. That made some of the horses that were out in the paddocks just look at them wondering if the twolegged were crazier than normal.

“…you are gonna make me puke!”

He smiled at her and she felt the butterflies again in her stomach and she couldn’t do anything else than smile back.

“…that wouldn’t be kind of me, now would it…”

Slowing the speed of the swing he then took place beside her and they rocked back and forth in a more suitable speed. With a soft sigh she leaned towards him. His right arm was behind her back so she didn’t have to fear to fall backwards. The sun had disappeared beneath the horizon and left on the sky was a pale full moon that shone down on them with a silvery light. The crickets sang all around them together with birds she would never learn the name of. Then what seemed like hundreds of fireflies started their show. Who needed fireworks really, she thought, when nature provided something that was even more beautiful?

Interlacing her fingers with his, they sat like that for awhile. Silent. They didn’t need to talk to enjoy each others company. That pleased Shannon. Her ex had been a talker, constantly talk, talk, talk, it was like her ears were going to fall off. Then of course the lies hadn’t been good either. Suddenly he lifted her hand, brought it to his face and kissed it.

“What was that for?” she asked, slightly amused. He was still a bit nervous about the intimacy things.

“I just came to think of how much I…lo…like you…” It was hard to tell but it almost looked like he was blushing.

“…You know…you are doing it completely wrong…you dork….” The tone and sound of her voice told him she didn’t mean them for what they were, but he still couldn’t help the glance he gave her.

“Wrong? Don’t you want me to…” he started, frowned a little, his worry plain in his voice.

“…I'm no olden time lady you know…I won’t swoon for a kiss on the hand…I want one…right here…” she said and pointed on her mouth.

She saw him swallow. Aw poor bobo she thought, nervous again. He let go of the swing and turned towards her. His green eyes looked deeply into her brown ones. He stroked some runaway strands from her face. The way he looked at her were like he was looking at a treasure.

“A kiss there? Well…its not there I want to start…” before he talked any further he leaned towards her slowly, his hand gently steering her closer to him. She closed her eyes as she felt the first small kisses from her collarbone, and up her neck. Teasingly he nibbled one ear lob before kissing each of her closed eyes as well as her nose. Shannon couldn’t help that little sigh of happiness that escaped her. He stroked her cheeks softly and over her hair.

It was so silent she almost didn’t hear it at first and she opened her eyes slowly.

“I'm sorry – what did you say?”

“I…said that…I'm so lucky to have found you and….I said I love you…”

Shannon smiled and raised her hand to stroke him over his cheek.

“I love you too…now please…kiss me…”

And so the man did, several times.
