Love this photo! The lighting is just right and the composition is set up nicely. I also love that the butterfly is the brightest-colored subject in the piece, making it the focal point. Nicely captured!

Where did you take this photo to get such a blank background? Did you set that up specifically or was it already in place (like in a butterfly conservatory?) Wherever it is, it is a lovely setting for taking pictures of a lovely subject.I believe your composition is flawless here.Technically, the only part of this photo I can find that is mildly distracting (and I'm being very nit-picky here to find even this much) is the light reflecting off the butterfly's right wing.If I were to turn this into a painting there are a few changes I would make, mostly to tie the colors together a bit more. I don't know if you have the ability to do any of these with a photo, but you might find it interesting looking at it through an artist's eye anyway...I would take the orange plants on the left and brighten them up just a touch with the same color as the butterfly's wings. I would also take that copper green from the plant around the log and add it into the shadows of the leaves in the top. I would lighten parts of the branch in the foreground to give more details and significantly darken the log in the background to lessen some of its focus.Just some thoughts
