You're welcome I personally have way more trouble with cat faces than with canid faces for some reason! And I'm glad to hear it I ordered that long cream you messaged me about earlier, I like it, even if it is not as soft as the white one. I'm just sad they stopped selling the long yellow, that one had such a gorgeous colour! The newer 20 mm fabrics are lovely too, the browns especially are quite realistic. I'm just waiting for a long black...

Don't you hate it when a fabric you love gets discontinued? I haven't tried any of the 20mm, just the 13mm and 30mm. I'm surprised they don't have matching colours in each length! That would be so useful!

Ugh yes, it has happened a few times now. You want to reorder a fabric, but it is no longer there ;_; I am very pleased with the white, cream and desaturated brown 20 mm fabrics, very soft . Have not yet tried the other colours. Right?! I spoke to one of the shopkeepers this weekend in person and he told me they were dependent on what Schulte (the brand) produces for Steiff's plush production. Because I told him I would really like to have a 30 mm black because as you say, it would be so great to have all colours in all lengths. Sometimes there are these 'only once' fabrics of different colours, but they often don't put that online and sell them on fairs instead :/ They are also like one of the last producers in the world that still weaves their faux fur instead of knits. Great brands like Tyber and Tissavel have all gone bankrupt, so that complicates things a bit more.

Don't know if I'm saving my fabric for a special project, or just hoarding discontinued stock..... XD

Curious to know about the one-offs! Although unfortunately they're just at fairs. I guess so people don't come to expect/rely on getting more? And that's sad to hear they're having trouble with just having one supplier. Fingers crossed Schulte don't stop anytime soon. Their stuff (and Tyber and Tissavel's) is so nice. I've used alpaca and mohair, which are great for the more traditional bear look (or for black scruffy kittens) but they're not as dense or soft as these.

Haha, one look around my room and one wonders the same... Sometimes I buy something I have no use for at the moment, but I know (or feel like) I will in the future. Especially when I was starting out I felt like I needed to improve a lot first before I could use one of the 'special' fabrics. Reach a certain level, and then get more fabric privileges

Very rarely they put the one-offs on their website as well, the last time was somewhere last year I think? I check once a month to see if they have something interesting, but yes usually it's just on the fairs. They often have very little of it so they save it for such special occasions, I suppose. I agree with the mohair and alpaca! I have a small collection of those as well but indeed, the look and feel of it is very different. I only buy those fabrics on fairs since I cannot gauge online how soft or dense a fabric will be. It brings its own challenges but I enjoy using it for teddies (admittedly I make few of those since people don't commission mohair dolls, I think I have made only two on commission). Gotta admit I do prefer to work with faux fur though.
