I've been to a lot of abandoned buildings over the years, easily over 500 although I've kinda lost count. It's very rare however to come across a place with a true feeling of authenticity, a place that feels like you've taken a step into a completely different age. A place where everything from the smell right down to the way the air hangs is like nothing you've ever experienced before, impossible to portray in a photograph. This was such a place.
