I wonder what the rest of the forest is like? Is it just like this at the middle while the rest is lush and alive?
Whatβs the lore for the spirit? Was it someone who wronged nature in some way when alive, forced to repay by eternally protecting a forest? Or something more?
This might just be me, but what I believe the method of protecting the forest, based on the appearance, is the spirit here manipulates the forest around those whoβll do harm, and either let the eternally wander through the forest, or bring them to the middle (where I assume the spirit is strongest) and end them, or keep them forever imprisoned.
I may be reading too much into this, but that seems like some fitting lore. (I find doing things like this an entertaining exercise)
