Despite what others have said failing to see how this is a 3D, it is to me. Maybe it doesn't look like your average 3D model from a game console and more on the 2D side but I still see hints of 3D in it.
Your work is amazing. Love it. <3

This should not be under 3D. The 3D section is for pictures that fully define the 3rd dimension, not for pictures that imply the 3rd dimension.
Besides that, great pic.

I'll reword my previous comment. I should have said that I don not THINK it should be in the 3D section.
My opinion on this, apologies if my comment caused any confusion, which based on some of the replies, it did.

I suppose I can see the logic behind your pic being in the 3D section. The thing is that even though the final result is derived from 3D images, it is not in itself 3D. The style of art used creates a 2D image with implied 3D, regardless of our attempts and only sometimes can it be 3D (I swear I saw an exception somewhere). The final result go's from using vectors to define the 3rd dimension to being reliant on shadow effects to define the 3rd dimension, which ends up creating a 2D effect.

PFFF you can go jealous as much as you want
so what if dosen't look all 3D'ish
It's just a different style different shading and all
All Deino drew himself was the background
else is his own modeled work
just a few different styles of effects all put in one picture
SWEET LORD
Go buy 3DMAX or something model a model and do the same as Deino did
Deino is a 3D modeler
he can use any shading style or whatever he wants
And i'm sure he dosen't need fools that don't get a few effects on a 3D model even if the effects where added in the 3d modeling program
Go master the program as Deino did and THEN GO COMPLAINING
TWO CAMELS IN A TINY CAR
THIS ARGUMENT IS OVER

When did I ever say I was jealous? Hm, you seem like a lulzcow based on your response.
I was simply making a comment, saying that I just don't think that this should be in the 3D section. That is simply my OPINION DAMMIT.
Of course, people then kept on replying trying to convince me otherwise and let me just say that no amount of replies from anybody will change what I think.
Holy fuck just accept that I have a difference in opinion from you and move on.
God dammit.

the way you say that, to me, means that no 3D renders count, because they are all 2D images with implied 3D, because they are not real. only translated pixels on a screen.
👍: 0 ⏩: 1
AlcatrazEX In reply to GlacierFrostclaw [2011-04-18 01:50:33 +0000 UTC]
Technically, everything digitally created is using implied 3D, with the exception of movies that used 3D glasses to define the 3rd dimension and the 3DS. You do make an excellent point with the pixels, but from where I stand, the picture in itself does not belong in the 3D section. The 3D section for artwork contains pictures that look like they could have been taken right out of some "3D" game on a game console, where the pixels are manipulated to give the impression that the 3rd dimension is present. The style used in Shimesaba is more of an anime style, which follows more of a 2D platform rather than a 3D platform. In my opinion, this picture does not belong in the 3D section. This is just what I think about this.

have you seen the Naruto games? They're "3D" and use the same artstyle

Marilyn-Ross In reply to AlcatrazEX [2011-04-17 11:19:38 +0000 UTC]
But with Photoshop he only added the background. Even the "Contour Rendering" is from the 3D program he used, 3dsmax. I can't see where the problem is. From what I understand, he didn't use Photoshop to add vectors to the 3D image. Also in MMD it's the same: it's 3D, but they already have contour in the 3D program.

You did see the picture displaying the process used to make the picture to begin with correct?

Marilyn-Ross In reply to AlcatrazEX [2011-04-18 16:17:18 +0000 UTC]
Yes, I did.
Look at this [link] I used only MMD and added the writings with a program like Paint. It has Contour, though. Probably in 3dsmax you have to save all the layers to make a picture. It's like making a song and saving all the tracks and then put them together to make the final mp3.
But do you at least use some 3D program?
