Description Sooo because of photography hobby I noticed I haven't painted for quite a long time.. especially no Pokemon themed stuff.
For some reason I wanted to paint a sunset (maybe because I just love sunsets!) so I just imagined a trainer having a walk with his Charmander

It looks like this Charmander isn't afraid of water AT ALL! He's actually enjoying himself in the waves!

It's all right. As long as he's safe, just let him have fun in the water.

He can finally enjoy water I think Otherwise all other trainers would not let their charmanders near water.. but this one loves his charmander, so he lets him

Wow I wish I could see a timelapse of it. Especially the water. It looks so realistic D:

timelapse of the painting? Yeah I was thinking about doing a live painting stream of this like I did before.. but i had to do this in two evenings so I didn't kind of want to break the stream in two. and I don't have any screen recording software. Do you know some good one?
The water was a difficult one. I had to do it in several passes and develop a new brush just for the little waves. Also I did it without any reference, just from my memory haha but I think it went pretty ok.

Thank you!

Well, I am using a broadcaster software that records while it is streaming or you can just record whenever you want without doing a stream.
If you have a video editor program then you can easily merge them together and upload the full timelapse for example.
It's one of the recommended ones from picarto.tv, where I put my streams when I do some. (XSplit Broadcaster)

I mean especially all those splashes. It looks like a photograph of real water splashes or so.

Ah thank you very much!! ^^ I'm happy to hear that!
I don't know why... maybe because I wasn't very active here for like half a year. did just a few little paintings in this time :/
I wonder how to get more views and comments.

Mh, I guess through being active and commenting on stuff you like, that's what worked out for me ^w^

Yep.. before, I painted like every week. Now I did photography for a year and a half and now soon I'm going on a vacation again.. sooo lots of new photos and less new paintings. :/
I hope I'll get to paint more landscapes (maybe with pokemon!) after summer

Steve-does-art In reply to Dekus [2016-06-17 18:08:09 +0000 UTC]

Yeah, it's kinda sad how different art styles or especially photography gets less viewed and commented on, probably because a lot of people think that it doesn't take as much work and time to take a good picture than drawing a landscape or something.
Which is actually not the case, a really good photo can take a lot of time to set up and edit and it's not like you just go on auto-mode, take a pic and post it online.
I'm actually guilty too tho, because I'm more interest in drawing than in photography, which is why I mostly look and comment at drawings and paintings... :/
Just do what you want to do, it's not good to force yourself to doing something that gets you more attention even tho you don't like it ^w^

Yeah, same for me ^w^
I make all of the stuff I draw for fun and I also do art collabs, contest entrys and similar things for fun, too and also because they help me to improve.
Most of my galery is still Pokémon tho, because I have a lot of ideas for artworks with Pokémon in them and I really enjoy drawing them. ^^
But I also do original stuff or other fanart, whatever I feel like doing at the time.
I should do more original stuff to practice character design tho ovo

I'm back from my Europe trip. Sorry for long delay in replying! Yeah, drawing pokemon is enjoyable for some weird reasons.. I just like cute things I guess.

No problem ^w^
I know what you mean, it's just so much fun :3
You can also draw them executing awesome attacks which often comes with some great opportunities for really cool lighting effects and all that.
I dunno, I have way too many ideas for artworks that involve Pokémon but I love drawing them XD

no no no.. I really dislike the whole idea of brainwashing animals into fighting and hurting each other. I only like to paint pokemon in nature, doing some things or just enjoying life.
I imagine that they get brainwashed inside a pokeball to fight for their trainer and obey his commands. Because maybe they wouldn't even want to hurt other animals.. but they must obey the commands. Commands of a 12 year old boy who stands away and enjoys the view. He doesn't have to run or be struck by venomous spikes into his chest.

Interesting view on this and I have to agree.
This is why I like the Mystery Dungeon series way more than the main games:
The explorers fight by their own will and to rescue the corrupted Pokémon from the Mystery Dungeons and... welll... explore XD
It's briefly mentioned in the games that these Mystery Dungeons corrupt the Pokémon with a weak mind and make them go crazy, attacking other, normal Pokémon.
It's also mentioned somewhere when I recall it correctly that they'll be teleported out of the dungeon when you defeat them and that this saves them from this "Dungeon Sickness".
This is why all of my Pokémon artworks play in the Mystery Dungeon world in my headcannon (and also because I hate drawing humans XD )

Aa I've only played once a PKMN mystery dungeon game. I think it was on GBA or DS. hmm anyways.. It was a bit boring to me haha I dislike dungeons overall. Dungeons are usually the most boring part of any game imaginable hah But this is just me. So far my favourite PKMN games are Emerald on GBA and Y on 3DS. Now I'm playing Alpha Sapphire but I constantly think that I enjoyed Y much more.. :/

My favorite game of the main series is Heart Gold, it has the biggest game world and the most features in my opinion ^^
And my favorite pokémon game overall is Pokémon Mystery Dungeon Explorers of Sky
4th gen is also my favorite generation
