Been a while since i posted huh?

This is the thing i was talking about in my journal. Strange huh? i randomly came up with it the other week. i doodled the head and just added random things till i got this. i pretty much figured out everything bout them. now if only i can come up with a good name. i have one, but i dont know if its gonna stay or if im gonna change it or at least the spelling of it.

This is a Gruda. (GROO-duh) (see? i wanna spice up the spelling at least but dont know how...) They are one of the oldest creations of Chaos as part of his ever growing army. They are mass in numbers and terrifyingly deadly. Chaos created them in the time of the four Hydra Dragons to destroy them. I know i havent gone much into that time in my story timeline...im very bad like that...but basically they are now released into the present time period of Delbin and everyone else that ive failed to mention so far (ugh theres way too many but ill eventually get to them) and for Chaos to release them means that the final battle is coming soon. Another creature was also released but am still doodling it. its still in the concept stage lol.

They are a bit bigger than a horse-sized dragonhorse so they are pretty decent sized lol. They have a very awkward, almost lizard-like walk, stretching their front limbs sideways and forward and their hind limbs never fully extending the knee. the two shortened limbs can extend to the ground and can be used as extra support if a front limb is in use and cannot support the weight properly. However, the main purpose for the middle limbs is primarily shredding at the prey's body or to grab. There are no defined claws on the two fingers but it is extra hard keratin, the same material in our own fingernails, which works just as well for them. If needed, they can stand on their hind legs, but cannot support it for very long due to the strange proportions of the front limbs. Also, they can stretch the limbs all the way to make themselves stand taller, but they do not typically like to do this. Despite the awkward limbs, they are extremely fast and evasive. They can change direction and give off a slither-like movement in the blink of an eye.

The only eye on the body is on the tail and is protected by thick skin covered with spikes. During rest or general walking, they keep the eye hidden. When engaged in battle, they can choose to open it as intimidation and extra vision or can keep it shut and double the spiked protection as a club. They eye itself is protected by the extra thick skin and has a unique covering to protect it from damage. despite it having only one eye on the tail, it does not require it for vision. it cannot see the same way we can, but it does have "eyesight" in a similar sense that bats use sonar. They send out a signal unique only to them, so no one else, not even dragons, can hear it. It is also unique to the individual so as not to confuse other Grudas. the variation is slight but enough to prevent collisions. The image that comes back to them is altered in colors of heat sensors so bodys glow red. This also makes them extremely good night hunters.

They are not very intelligent in the sense that they do not have a developed language. Nor do they know strategy without training. They are an ambush style attacker and just improvise when in battle but are very quick learners of their opponent's abilities and thas the only time their brain is like a supercomputer. Other than that they are not very intelligent on their own. The ones who give them training are the Rotten Flesh Beasts. They are the only ones who can control them and train them for strategy. They are pretty much their pets. All of them are genderless and do not experience sexual pleasures. However, at the same time they all reproduce and lay fertilized eggs. They do this by having the same concept of earthworms where they all contain both the female and male gametes. So though they are genderless they are also hermaphrodites. They only lay about 3 eggs at a time.
