It really has an alien feel to it. Quite a difference there with his left and his right hand.

It seems the light is coming from below (else his right arm would have been much lighter on top), which only makes it more mysterious.

I think it's a good call. Though a slight touch of glow a few inch in front of his leg that is still in the water, might help the more hasty viewer to be drawn more into the picture. If you are considering that option, I'd make sure it doesn't connect with his leg but is close enough to be his own trail, yet distant enough to be something else entirely.

Regardless it is wonderful.
