Thank you! You just have to practice and put time into it. Be not afraid to outside of the box think.

can you order stuff online? fabric stores or craft stores or even just plain old clothing stores?

I can't really order stuff online and my parents won't take me to the freaking store and my mom doesn't like me cosplaying for some reason and life just doesn't like me!!!!

Oh my, that can be difficult. I suppose as long as you're living with your parents, cosplaying will end up being a hard thing. I honestly don't think parents have any right to tell their kids what they can and can't do as long as it isn't putting them in danger or anything like that. I'm sorry but I can't stand parents like that. I know a few.
The most I can advise is to either try it anyways, I don't know if you have a car or a job yet, but buy the things yourself, or just wait until you do or your out of the house.

Well I based them off of a tutorial I saw inΒ the cosplay special edition of theΒ Otaku USA magazine. It was a promotion for the movie Wolf Children Ame and Yuki. I kind of made my own edits, and I'll do my best to explain it, I might make an official tutorial later.
1 sheet of felt cloth, around 12''x12'' for a regular size.
Your choice of any furry material at a fabric store or whatever, also around 12''x12'', maybe even a bit larger.
Sewing needle, and thread, can be matching or not, your choice. Doesn't show too much anyways
Sheet of cardboard 12''x12'' or larger.
1 headband
Scissors.
Cut out two cardboard pieces of the same side in a triangle like shape. You can kind of curve the edges of two sides. You will repeat the process with the felt and the fur. Make the cloth and fur pieces you've cut out a bit larger than the cardboard, because you're stuffing the cloth with the cardboard.
I also made the felt cloth a bit smaller than the fur cut outs as well. Only by like a half centimeter. One felt to one cloth. Match them inside out and sew only the curved sides, leave the bottom/base blank. Turn them right side out, stuff the cardboard in, and at this point you can bend the cardboard a bit to give it a more realistic look/bend.
At the bottom you need to cut out two slots. You can weave the headband through the slots.Β To have them bend inwards, you have to put the headband through the outer fur side first.
I hope this helps. I might do a picture tutorial eventually. I'm terrible at describing things.

I'm glad I look in character. I like to act it too! This is probably my favorite too. My trolls will be better when I get some makeup for them. I can't wait to post my Kanaya cosplay!!! >.<

Aw man, I miss taking TKD. I ended up stopping when I had to get a job. I couldn't balance them both along with school and my regular schedule. I made it up to a brown belt with a white stripe. I took dance too. I took dance for a longer time though. I was only in TKD for a couple of years. I was in dance for eight. I've sadly lost a bunch of my flexibility and strength since then, though I'm still pretty kick ass.

Im only a camo belt. And yes, my tkd leage has a camo belt. It goes white, orange, yellow, CAMO, green, purple, blue, brown, and then I think red-black. I just started over the summer. IM GETTING MY SPARRING GEAR!!!
π: 0 β©: 1
DementeDxACE In reply to snowynightmaregirl [2014-05-18 03:42:50 +0000 UTC]
That is quite interesting. My league goes in a pretty similar order. white, yellow, purple, orange, green, blue, brown, brown with white, red, red with white, red with black, and then black, then the different dons of black.
Man, sparring was my least favorite part. I don't like wearing all of the gear, and I don't like fake fighting.

Sparring is my favorite. I dont get the chance to get my emotions out a lot, so I usually beat the crap outta my partners. Theres one girl that Im friends with and we always spar together

I tend to hold in my emotions a lot as well. Not very healthy, but I'd be going over the line of things that are legal if I really let it go haha. I suppose singing is my best tool for release.Β

I'm kind of one of those creepers that lives in the basement. Nobody ever goes down there, and when they do, it's only to grab something real quick or try and communicate with me. I'm not very shy with my voice though, I'm confident of my ability, and I blast it through the house. I'd probably stay in my bedroom more though if there was a computer in there, but the computer is in the basement.

That could be creepy. Someone comes in to use the bathroom and run out screaming about this weird chick sitting in the corner. "Oh my gog! You guys know you have a HOMESTUCK in your bathroom?"
