Yay I really like this. Please continue to do more Ghibli fanart.
In November me and my boyfriend will watch My Neighbour Totoro. It will be his first time seeing it and I just know he is going to love it as much as you and I do >w<

Yeah, Miyazaki's universe is so wonderful, poetic's, deep and dreamy ! Well, good anime's screening for you and your boyfriend : I'm sure he will love it !

And PS : I already made another Ghibli's fanart (just here), but I just want to share variety and what it's inside my imagination ! So, I don't know when I will make Ghibli's again (but I will do it, soon or later)...

Very true, I couldn't of put it better myself~
Miyazaki is the god of true anime. I am so happy that he has decided to resurrect Ghibli. I cannot wait for the Red Turtle and the new film in the works. These are very exciting times indeed.

He wants to get into anime and well Ghibli is the best, so we will start with that

lol Tombo's bike X3 The old ladies were the best and Ursula rocks >w<
I like your collage here, very good idea. I cannot wait to see more and Kiki is adawwwwwwable in your style <3

Actually... Totoro is a little like a Death Spirit.

Really ? That's not what I remember from the movie : the legend told by the father of the two young girls was that there was a creature, a guardian of the forest and the village next to it... The only real "death spirits" I remember in Miyazaki's were in "a journey to Agarta" and " The ambulant castle" ! Yeah, at the end, there are the miraculous healing of their mother, who was at the death's doors, but for me, Totoro is a spirit of Life (healing + protection of the forest), as we can see in "the Miyori's forest" (it's not a Ghibli's, but they play in the same category).
Buuuuuuut.... that's my opinion and interpretation of the movie. I hope I clarified my vision 😉

Well, movie has been inspired by real events in Japan, when two sisters dissapeared in forest and has been killed by madman. So theoricly movie is metaphor of death of two girls. If you look closly at the end of film, you can see that both sisters don't have shadows and look sad a little.

This murder case was Sayama Incident from 1963.

Thanks for the information, I didn't know that fact about the movie's background... But the story of "my neighbor Totoro" is a bit childish I think, and that last scene is just to show this inspiration... which is pretty morbid...
