If the guy up there looks vaguely like Captain Jack Sparrow, blame my sudden obsession with Sparrington and the resulting search for subtext in the two PotC movies.
But anyway, he's supposed to be a desert nomad...thing. Not really a pirate. Depp based the kohl-lined eyes on I don't know the exact words, but something like the Berbers? Desert people. That struck me, plus I have a set of manhwa set in historical Arabia, where this one bodyguard has a really cool set of dreads. And, well, Captain Jack Sparrow also has dreadlocks, too. o_O
