Killing time inbetween creative stages, a very quick Spike portrait just because I can, because I like him and I'm happily watching Season 7 of Buffy on DVD because it was RIDICULOUSLY cheap, I mean seriously, they were selling it for 70% less than anywhere else.How could I not buy it?
Buffy, Buffy, Buffy, BUFFY! One of those funny words, that when you say it over and over again it loses its meaning and just becomes an odd sound, but... a sound that inspires a strange happiness.
Has anyone else every done that with words, just said them over and over until they don't work anymore? Or am I just mad... H'mmm.
Try it with "wardrobe", that always works really well for me but it becomes a sinister, hollow noise filled with malicious dark space and possibly clowns.
Bastards.
So yes, I digress.
Spike (James Marsters) from "Buffy The Vampire Slayer". I hate his hair, I had no idea how difficult it would be to paint, if I'd have known I wouldn't have ever started this piece.

And for any Buffy fans looking to buy the series... The new Collector's Edition Boxset has just been released, every season, all the special features in just ONE box. And it contains a letter from Joss Whedon as well. Gosh.
I know it's available in the UK but I'm not sure if it's been released elsewhere yet so check the Fox website for details and if you're considering buying.... go through one of those price search engines to get the best deal.
I wants it. Soon it will be mine.

Beyond amazing work of art. And the thing with the saying words over and over until they just become mindless little sounds...that happens to me all the time. During an essay for school it happened with the word celebrity. It's a very strange thing.

You've probably heard enough times how absolutely beautiful your portrait of spike is, but I'm just going to agree with the hundreds of others who said so. And I know from experience how hard Spike's hair is to paint. And I painted him on a pumpkin. O.o

He is badass, but did you know the guy who played spike was in his 40's when he played in buffy? that just blew my mind when i found out!

I do that word thing all the time. Mostly with earmuffs. Sometimes with mukluk. Also door works strangely well...I wonder if I'm putting too much thought into this. o.o'
