Description The Borneo eared frog (Polypedates otilophus) is named for the sharp ridges behind its eyes and above its ears. It is endemic to the island of Borneo. They are usually found in lowland tropical rainforests, but have been recorded at elevations up to 3,600 feet above sea level. Insects are their main food source. Like other species of tree frog, Borneo eared frogs lay their eggs in foam nests above water sources. The tadpoles fall right into the water when they hatch. According to the IUCN, this is a “Least Concern” species.
