Now I want a new books hehe.
It's funny because I made my first convention as an artist a little because of Blacksad because it's was a good excuse for meet Guarnido too. haha

Glad to see you're a fan. I got the first issue (original printing, in French, NBD) as a return after an awful book, and it was such a relief to find such a good one. The ending was a bit of a let down ("and then he just shoots him!"), but the latter books fixed this too.

On another way the first books was mostly for present the characters ( from what i heard from Guarnido if I remember right ).

That's fine for him to say, but it's also possible to have a good story and it really seemed like they got so into the atmosphere and film noir tropes that they forgot to have an ending. It's fine with me; it's just something to warn people of so they don't get put off by the first issue.

For me the first issue was kind of classic, I mean almost the cliché polar/film noir story, but the visual and all bring a little plus and enough for pushing me to read the other books too.
