Thats so cool. How do you get the surface to look so smooth like that? I'm trying, but it always looks so handled and there are noticeable finger prints.

Hi! thanks for the post. This sculpture was baked and then sanded smooth. It was then coated with high build primer (rattle can automotive paint) and sanded again. Hope that helps!

Thanks for replying! Did you just sand it down with regular sand paper? Wouldn't it make the sculpture look kind of scratchy?

Also, where can i buy the high build primer? Thanks so much!

you can use regular sandpaper if you use a wet sanding technique. 3M sponge sanding pads (fine and ultrafine) work really well. You can get a sandable primer from walmart or a automotive store like napa. For this sculpt I used Duplicolor Filler primer, but you can use any sort of filler primer.

Popeye has been my hero sence I was 2 years old. The fleischers version was always my favourite and you captured it perfectly. They should have ustilized your modeling talent for the CGI version they produced a while back it would have made them more money.
