This is only my opinion, but I'm getting this feeling that this Lightning looks like a female counterpart of Raiden from Metal Gear Solid. I like it.

lol right right, i'm like amateur when it comes to digital painting, i dont know how to use textures to give the pic some grit or realism... sometimes i don't know how to approach an idea i have... Any pointers you could give to a young artist?

Digital is not that much different to analog drawing or painting. Ok, you have to learn to handle the tool.
Best thing to do is trial and error. IΒ΄m sure youΒ΄ve heard this before but itΒ΄s true. The more you do the better. It all comes down to the hours you put in. Looking at livestreams and tutorials can help for techniqual stuff, though. Drawing from live and pictures is good too. In order to develope your own style there is no way around the trial and error thing. You will come up with your own way to do things and people will see and appreciate that.

I see, yes ive heard this before... its just seeing all of the good artists at their level then reflecting on my own level of skill makes me think its impossible to get there. My motivation also goes away a lot so i will skip ot on painting for a couple of days. I appreciate you talkin to me about this

Trust me, every artist has his struggle with something. The difference is, those on the top, they donΒ΄t quit. I know exactly what you mean. ^^
A good but also difficult way to come over the gap appearing when getting demotivated is to accept the failure and get the hunger to come over it.
