My portal costume is almost finished. I still don't know what kind of shoes I'll wear. Those long fall boots look like high heels and that would be kind of gay.I made combustible lemons along with a deadly lemon launcher. If life gives you lemons...

Well you could easily add those springs to any kind of boots. Just fix them to the heel and top of the boot.
Maybe add a white aperture logo if you use black boots.
And remember the looks aren't that importand if the shoes kill you!

Because I would like to make a Portal cosplay, but ... same thing as you, Portal boots on a man looks too girly ...

i usually walk around in "flipflops" ore barefooted. But i have seen another guy wearing some portal socks (looking like long fall boots) you can buy.

You could wear black Chucks and tall white socks with black rings around them

It's not cardboard it's ordinary paper! However I made it more rigid by using glass fiber and resin.
So first a coat of resin letting it dry and then it was stable enough to add another layer of resin including glass fibers.
it weights about 350g and pretty tough.
This year i will work on a real portal gun to replace that lemon gun.

This is the best male costume I've seen so far! Tell me; what did you make the Companion Cube out of? Most people do cardboard, so that'd be cool if it was something different.

By the way the companion cube was supposed to be a storage box but since it has a complicated structure and is covered with spiky glass fibers on the inside I gave up that idea. I should have started wit a normal box for that.

I really struggle making the long fall boots. I just saw a few people with white boot covers and the attached spring. They were not walking on their toes all the time so i might try that once in a while. However i was walking around barefeet at the last convention and that was not bad at all.
