since kirishima's quirk is based on his skin, i thought that maybe, if he overexerts it beyond its current hardening ability, beyond unbrekable, he ends up with vitiligo-like patches in places. something like, the density and sharpness of his hardening destroying skin pigment cells on the spots they get the most intense, so his hands/arms, back and face get the most of it.

like, y'know when in emergency situations people do things they couldn't otherwise bc of adrenaline and stuff? something like that- he pushes and pushes himself and doesn't even realize he's doing it until way afterwards, when the adrenaline dies down and he just. collapses from exhaustion and pain

(i don't know about the exact science behind any of this, so feel free to correct/add anything if you'd like! I just find this interesting :> )
