The chain is just plain black chain from Home Depot actually. For the medalion, I kind of molded hot glue and paper-wads on a cardboard backing, then paper-mached over it to make it smoother. ^_^ Yay glue!!!

the fenrir looks like a giant car key... by the way does anyone have any tip on how to beat sepiroth and get this damn thing?

Umm, use very small pieces of newspaper for the paper mache??? I found that makes it easier to get smooth corners and edges, etc. Then you just need a lot of spare time......

Well, I made the main shape of it out of a few layers of cardboard, with a flat wood dowel down the center. Then I covered it with paper mache......this project ate most of my soul. >.<

lol i see this is excellent work that was made out of cardboard, i can see you put a hell of a lot of effort in this. I was allways unsure about making a key blade before i came accross inspiring people like you.I chose to do fenrir cause A. i like cloud B. i like keyblades and C It looked easy
but i have noticed mainly girls are doing this and it turns out heavinly the boys ones are shit if you know what i mean you will get the ones that loook cool tho

I have kind of noticed that most keyblades seem to be made by girls. O__o Interesting...lol, maybe boys don't have enough patience? 
I didn't get much help on this actually -- my dad showed me how to mask off pieces and helped on parts of the spray painting. Oh, and I was dogsitting over the paper-mache-ing days, and that dog totally helped out with moral support.

I think one of my favourite parts was hanging it outside to dry in full view of my neighbours. xDD So even the WTF effect is worth it.

haha, that was actually a flatish dowel I found in my basement. O__O I didn't want a cylindrical one since the keyblade is generally flat. So basically, a long, flat stick about an inch wide and 1/2 inch thick. It worked great!

lolz, partly. The handle is a paper towel roll tube stuffed with cardboard and hot glue. O____o Yeah....I doubt I put this together the best possible way, but it worked.
Just use a lot of 2-ply cardboard, cuz that's a lot stronger...

mine was origannly cardboad lol but i am just too lazy to do like 100 layers of it so i then tried maconite but that was the same story as cardboad so i am going for oak wood next XP

Yeah, that's what the wood dowel prevents. I had about 2 layers of 2-ply cardboard and then another couple of 1-ply for detailing on the outermost layer. (The big part around the hilt needed more layers to get it thicker.) Mine still bent a little, but you can flatten it pretty well by layering textbooks on the thing....

iss it seems like hard work i am thinking of either using foam or wood but wood is too heavy

ooooh, be extra careful with foam. When my cosplay group did Org XIII at a con, some of the giant weapons made of styrofoam got killed in the crowded hallways. T__T Buuuut, layering other materials over the styrofoam helped immensely.
